Restart Theater Athens presents:
RESIDENT WOMEN ARTISTS 2026

A Message from Restart Theater Athens

Restart Theater Athens is proud to present the outcome of the artistic residency of two young women creators taking their first steps in the creation of meaningful theatre that addresses issues close to our hearts as women: sexual violence, gender stereotypes, and limiting social beliefs.

During their residency, Feé Ambrúz (playwriting, co-directing, and production) and Lina Drissia (playwriting, co-directing, and acting) developed their original theatrical work, SHUT UP! A Woman's Play.

The residency took place from April to June 2026, with Restart Theater Athens providing artistic and technical mentoring, rehearsal space, and production support throughout the entire creative process—from the initial conception of the project to its final development and public presentation.

Over the course of the residency, Feé and Lina successfully co-wrote and completed a three-act play (90 minutes in duration), co-directed the production, and brought together a dedicated team of volunteer performers whose enthusiasm, commitment, and creativity helped bring the project to life:

Zoï Le Jamtel, Angeliki Dafnerou, Manon Martel, Adèle Saint Martin, Ari Alexis, Koko Yannis, Lina Drissia, Grace Chevreau, Léo Deschamps, and Orfeas Le Jamtel.

In the final stage of the residency, Feé and Lina organized the public premiere of their work, followed by two more performances. We are delighted to invite audiences to witness and support these emerging artists as they share their voices and vision with the public.

We wish them every success with SHUT UP! A Woman's Play and look forward with excitement to their future artistic journeys and their continued contribution to meaningful theatre that gives voice to what too often remains unspoken.

THE STORY

Shut Up! A Woman's Play

Princess Cesaria lives in a beautiful castle, where she spends her nights gazing at the moon. She shares her days with her nanny and her best friend, getting into amusing arguments about dignity and growing up.

Written and directed by: Feé Ambrúz and Lina Drissia

Cesaria is a woman facing the same pain, oppression, and violence experienced by countless other women. Together, they gather to tell the endings of their stories—the stories that are too often left untold.

Based on true events, Shut Up! A Woman's Play was created through testimony and collective storytelling, using theatre as a platform for voices that have not been heard.

Content Warning: This performance contains depictions and references to sexual violence and is intended for informed audiences.

One day, Cesaria is no longer a little girl. As every fairy tale promises, a charming husband arrives. He seems perfect in every way—his skin even sparkles in the sunlight. But what happens behind the closed doors of a fairy tale? Or is it a nightmare? Once the story ends, does she truly live happily ever after, or is that simply a myth we've been taught to believe?

MEET OUR RESIDENT WOMEN ARTISTS 2026:

Feé Ambrúz

I was born in Břeclav, a small town in the south of the Czech republic. Currently I’m studying theatre studies at Faculty of Fine Arts, Masaryk University, and I aspire to be a theatre director and writer. My work centers on feminism, equality and the use of theatre as a platform to speak about social issues.

As a part of my residency at RESTART THEATER ATHENS, I wrote and directed a play addressing sexual and domestic violence, portraying the social pressure women face within patriarchal society.

Through my practice I seek to create a space for marginalized voices and provoke critical conversation about gender, power and justice. In my free time I enjoy writing poetry, climbing mountains and practicing yoga.

Lina Drissia

My name is Lina, I am 19 years old and I am French, currently studying humanities and literature in Bordeaux.

This theatre piece came to me as a necessity after hearing stories and living under the constant pressure of the patriarchal system, I realized that creating was the only way to move through difficult emotions.

Theatre is new to me; this is the first time I have written a play, and I am discovering a love for expressing myself through images and movement. It felt essential to make a project that tells our stories and carries our voices. I use art to build forms that reflect who I am and the values I hold feminist, humanist, and anticapitalist. I also work with video and audio, drawn to the way these mediums can capture precious, fleeting moments.

Cultural exchange matters deeply to me; travelling is how I learn to understand the world more fully. In my free time, I love reading (especially women writers) and writing silly stories in my notebook.
