THEATRE, ART, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND WELL BEING AT RESTART

"Theatre is not only art. It is also a mirror of the human psyche. Through roles, stories, and live expression, we are given the opportunity to better understand ourselves and others.

It helps us grow personally, strengthening our empathy, self-awareness, confidence, and our ability to communicate with those around us.

Even if others in our lives may sometimes feel like our worst nightmare, our alienation from one another also harms us — both individually and collectively, as societies.

We know, from over twenty years of practice, that the applied theatre we engage in has a profound therapeutic impact on mental health and emotional well being. It offers an outlet for emotion, a space for uncensored expression, and a pathway toward meaningful connection with the community.

We know that applied art transforms us. It gives us the space to be ourselves and the freedom to express who we are in the presence of others.

And we also know that a society in crisis begins to heal each time one of us finds liberation through authentic expression in community.

For this reason, all our actions at RESTART are rooted in Theatre and the arts from and for Society. As we cultivate stronger selves and stronger communities, we help shape a better world — for us and for everyone.

This season, we are delighted to deepen the connection between art, creativity, personal empowerment, growth, and well being through three new workshops:

“What I Want to Feel and Accept” — a dance therapy and mental health workshop coordinated by psychologist and dance therapist Semeli Balta-Messari.

“What I Want to Be" – Inspired by The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams — a dramatherapy and personal development workshop coordinated by psychologist and dramatherapist Anastasia Triantafyllidi.

"What I Want to Write" - a creative writing workshop coordinated by author and theatre critic Maro Triantafyllou.

Our mental health, emotional well being and our continuous personal growth matter."
